Im not sure its calibrated but is a cool tool. I used with my babys cry and only missed cant facebook it. But mail was an option.

Now I can measure how loud the noise is , from construction site next of my house.

The description in Russian AppStore is worse than nothing, throw away your translator, please! The interface seems good for the first glance but have you ever tried to set any specific offset value? Buttons are too small and non-evident too.

One of the best of sound measuring apps for iPhone. UI is not perfect though its easy to get used to it. So if you want to check sound levels around you try it. If you dont know what is db(a) db(c) z etc weighting and difference between, it well explained in wikipedia.

This is a perfectly designed app. Its very easy to calibrate, has many options, and lots and lots of data. It is very, very professionally designed. The best part: Push the ? on the app and see some great anchors and effect size measures. Beautiful!

I be used this app for two years on my IPhone 5s. It worked great and was as accurate as my dB meter . Readings are very high on the iPhone 6. Over 40 dB higher. Even a calibration didnt help.

On my 5s this was brilliant, only 0.5dB out from a $2k meter. On my new 6s plus its 30dB adrift. Unusable until its fixed. Please resolve. Thanks.

I work as a Maintenance Engineer for a hospital. We have a very expensive Db meter that is hard for a novice to use (very complicated) this gets almost exactly the same readings and very easy to use. I love the email function. I would give it 5 stars if you add more instructions for us users that dont have the knowledge or experience to understand all the settings. Thank you for creating the app! I will be buying the Pro version (to rid myself of the adds) are the differences between this version and Pro just the Adds? Im amazed that this app was even close to our our real, expensive Db meter. It made a believer out of me.

This app would have been perfect, but dont download unless you want your battery capacity to be cut by 80%. There is a major flaw unrelated to accuracy- it runs the processor constantly whit no way turn it off - download it and see what I mean - you usage will equal your standby so have fun recharging your phone every 8 hours..... Forget about having any standby time while this app sits on your phone.

I love the idea of this app. The interface is very nice also. And is FREE!!! It lacks in accuracy however. :/ I am an automotive test engineer. I have experience evaluating the noise levels of automotive products. I decided to test this app out compared to a sound level meter (only took a very quick walk around lab and office). I found that the numbers did not match up very well (I believe it was within 10 dB, however). I think the strongest reason for the inaccuracy was due to lower frequency sounds. To properly measure low frequency, a larger microphone is needed. I dont know the size that comes with the iphone, but I can not imagine it being that large. My recommendations for future updates: Consider allowing different frequency weighting scales (dBA is very popular). Consider a weighting scale for the iphone microphone (if mic does not pick up lower frequency very good, you may be able to digitally amplify the expected signal at that frequency) Consider specifying the frequency range that this app is good for.

But how do you shut it off? I dont know how accurate it is but I couldnt figure out how to stop it. Seems to continuously run!

Cant sleep due to husbands snoring so as Im lying in bed grumpy I wonder just how loud it is, and lo and behold there is an app for that, and free to boot. If I cant sleep I might as well amuse myself and have statistical evidence for my grouchiness tomorrow morning. Thanks!

For the ppl who complain about not being able to turn it off. When you exit the app double tap the home button and turn off the app from the list. Just like delete.

Great app, but after you run the app your processor will run at 80% until your battery dies really fast. I turned off the app and even deleted it, but my processor stayed running at 80 %. the only way to fix it is to restore your iPod to a previous state. Dont download till the bug is fixed! But it is a great app.

This app is great for recording noise levels and then emailing them to yourself. For me, the data export feature was essential as it allowed me to generate graphs of noise levels. And ... Its free! Awesome! Add dBA filtering, and it will be SUPER-awesome!

Run sound all the time for a 1400 crowd in weekends, works better then most paid apps!!
